Ok - I've installed RAM a many a time, but I can't get the damned door off the bottom of this thing! I even just went out and bought the right screwdriver for it, but it won't budge a bit! Anyone have any pointers? I'm stumped and I really want to boost my ram up to 1 gig.....

When you unscrew the panel it should come off rather easily...

I installed mine fine while I was playing War3...

Did you get all 4 screws off?
Maybe a little tappity-tap, or use something tiny (think sewing needle) on the edge to sort of wedge it out?

Assuming that you have got the 4 screws out, the panel will just lift out, sometimes Apple use a little sealant to fix it in place.

Maybe he used the wrong screw driver to begin with and didn't realize he needed the right size screw driver until he stripped the screws. Now nothing will come off. Man, I hate Apple and their mini screws in the notebooks. They made them so small, it's like they're trying to give you a message of "don't do it yourself, buy the RAM BTO, or bring it into an Apple Store and let us do it for you for a not very nominal fee."

ok - to clear up a little confusion the 4 screws are NOT off, thats what I'm having the issue with. They are so tight on there I can't get them to budge, they are not striped though, just stuck on real freakin' tight.

I need help getting the screws off, I agree with he who speaks above me, damn apple and they're "mini" screws!

Anyone have any tricks to loosen the screws?

I ran into the exact same problem just 2 days ago. I finally just got out a pair of pliers and used them to turn the screw-driver while I held it down with my other hand.
