Availability of 27 inch iMac in apple stores

With all the recent news about afflicted 27" models, I was wondering if stock in the apple stores is also restricted / have a 3 week wait - or if the 3 week waits are only restricted to online orders?

Does anyone have any knowledge on this?
 
I bought my sister a 27" iMac in store a few weeks ago, they have them in store. The only thing they don't have is the core i7 model unfortunately, but since she won't even stress the i5 I went with it. Someone else was walking out of the store with one the next day when I went to pick something else up the following morning. The screen had no color problems or flickering problems either.

One of the resellers near me here in New Zealand has only had one smaller iMac on display for a few weeks now with an empty space where the bigger one has usually stands. Another reseller upstairs in the same shopping mall has three demo iMacs of two different sizes though.
 
I've had the 27" i7 since November and it has no problems at all. But I did buy it through the ADC store.
