The Apple Store is down as of this morning.
With all the rumors circulating the web about the Mac Pro update coming soon and knowing Apple's good relationship with Intel who will be releasing new Xeon chips in March... It could just be that Apple got their hands on the chips a month in advance. So with the Store being down today do you think the Mac Pro will be updated today. I don't know about you but I have a good feeling about today. :D

Seems reasonably likely, maybe not shipping for a while, but they did last time. Of course Mac Pros could be up to 3 months away.

My honest guess would fall on the notebook line.

I doubt it. I think its another update for the iPad or perhaps preparation for valentines day :)

Well, so far the only news are Aperture 3.0 for $199.

The Apple Store is still down right now, and they already released a new pro app. (Aperture 3). There needs to be new hardware to go with it.

The thing that caught my eye in the apple store today is the removal of the "new" tags that adorned the icons of the iMac and the MacBook. Apple almost always has something marked "new", and that makes me think they have something more planned for today than just Aperture 3. Maybe it's just wishful thinking since my MBP 1,1 is starting to flake.

I noticed the same thing right away. One could only assume that some updates are coming very soon.

You're right about that. There is always something labeled "NEW" in the store. So I hope you're right again about them making another update today. But I think that would be a first for Apple.

Oh well no MP refresh today... the waiting continues. I doubt there will be another update tomorrow as it has never happened in the past that Apple has released updates in 2 consecutive days and plus updates/refreshs usually happen on Tuesdays.

I doubt we will see anything for another couple weeks. If we're lucky, we may see an announcement soon but they won't ship until early March.
