iMovie won't open

I was downloading sound effects and such for iMovie. Then I tried dragging some .mpg's into iMovie from the finder. And it didn't seem like they were importing so I quit iMovie and tried to open it again and it would just bounce once in the dock, and not open. So I repaired permissions and restarted and still the same thing happened. All the other iLife apps work. What the hell happened. I remember this happened with iPhoto on my old iMac. This is ridiculous. Anyone know what happened?

btw, I am running osx 10.3.5 on a 1.33 ghz 12" powerbook.

Try trashing the preference files.

If you don't know where they are just search for "iMovie" in the finder and the prefs should show up.

It still doesnt work. I just bounces once and never opens.

Delete the preferences file and move the mpg file you were trying to import (to desktop/ whereever)...
