wow, with the way that's written, it sounded like they said that the number one feature request was more users...
number one
Multicamera track synch up,
i don't use final cut, but i can see how that would be a nice feature to have around...

All of those would be really nice. My favorites are the following in this order.
Network rendering: I don't think this will happen becuase it would require a rewrite of the rendering engine in FCP (I think at least, can anyone confirm)?
Preferences kept with project file and not with system: I like this alot, I have a JABOD box and I archive data to it, then store the full HDs in a fireproof case. It would be nice to pop an archived HD into the JBOD and open the project and have all the files linked and preferences intact for that project.
Background rendering: Not as important if they implement network rendering, but it would still be nicer than not (I think that apple will implement this).
Really they are all good suggestions, but if they implement at least the network rendering, then to me it will be worth the upgrade.

That would be awesome. I'm working on a Dual 1GHz MDD. Now I could add a 1.467 GHz G4 Power Mac upgrade card, 1.25 GHz eMac, and 867 MHz Powerbook to the fray, and look at the performance increase!
I think I read a story on Think Secret about Apple working on this, let me dig it up.
Edit: Here it is; seems like it is possible and will be coming soon. FCP 5?

Three 2.5ghz G5s and one 2 ghz Xserve join forces to render four adjustment filters across a 2 hour film...
Muahahahahahahahaha!

Good choices. If Apple can add %60 or greater of those features there will be many a happy camper. I totally agree with the Project-Preferences link. Nowadays you'll go from editing HD to SD an a per project basis.
Background Rendering- This feature should happen. Apple just needs to thread FCP very well so there is no perceived slowdown.
Scratch Disk Locations - I can definitely see where this is a better idea. Scratch Disks locations should change for some users. Tracking that change is better done on a project basis.

Already being worked on. If you're running FCP check the processes and you will likely see some Qmaster agents running. FCP doesn't fully support Qmaster like Shake does but the underpinnings are there and version 5 should support it IMO. But don't just take my word for it here is more info about clustering options (http://www.thinksecret.com/news/prorendering.html)
Lots of great suggestions here (http://www.lafcpug.org/Feature_topten_writein_04.html)

Apple already has the Xgrid technology to enable network rendering - all they need to do is add Xgrid support to FCP.

the two I would LOVE to see implemented are:
"Multicamera track synch up" - this would be great! me and my friend were putting a music video concert video together for a jazz-band performance at our school. and we used 3 individual cameras to film the different areas of the stage, close ups... wide shots... etc. and we were trying to think of a way to view two tracks at the same time and such... the best we could do was just put the 3 video tracks on 3 layers and edit around it.
"Scratch disk locations carried with the Project file, not Final Cut Pro preferences." - very useful, especially if your dumb like me and forget to set them sometimes, and you have parts all over both the internal and external drives.... lol
