A little background: the Cleveland Air Show is held annually downtown, near Jacobs Field and Cleveland Browns Stadium.
So what, right? Well...
Cleveland Air Show organizers say post-9/11 flight rules have forced them to cancel part of this year's event and could jeopardize future shows.
Air show organizers learned Wednesday that the Federal Aviation Administration has a new interpretation of the regulations, which creates a no-fly zone over major sporting events.
The new interpretation forbids air show performers from flying within about 3.45 miles of a regular-season game. This year's show will be Sept. 3-6. With the Indians set to play Anaheim at 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 3, the rule will ground the air show's new Twilight Show.
The Browns also have a pre-season game Sept. 3, but the rule only applies to the regular season.

I find the part I highlighted to be bizarrely funny. I guess pre-season terrorism is okay. :D
