pretty cool idea, but we'll see how it is in reality...
IMHO, they're all ugly though.. the ashlee simpson one is okay, but who really wants her covering up their beautiful white ipod?

Of course, they do peel off, and would provide a measure of protection for the pod. It'd be nice if someone made a clear version - thin protection to allow you to slide your iPod into car mounts, etc, without needing to remove it from a case.

Those things are so ugly looking. Whoever puts one of those on an iPod should be shot.

Meh, it scares me a little seeing something like the iPod, on someone else's web site. I keep wishing Apple Legal would swoop down and sue HP. :D

Hah!

I think this idea is weird, but I guess I'd need to see it in person, I can't tell if it's like a sticker, or padded, or an actual case and they are just exaggerating in the flash. Oh well.

It's generally bad business to sue people for doing what you signed a contract to allow them to do :)

i would want one that i can design, not any of those. if it were up to me,, you could buy those at the stores and not have to buy an ipod.
oh well.

Jeez you can never please everyone. Before, everyone always complained about how easy it was to scratch the iPod, now it's just plain ugly to protect one. Why not get one printed with the case of the iPod so it looks exactly the same, but with a "sticker" to prevent scratches? If they made them to fit 3G I might get one because I'd rather stick the ipod in my pocket than keep it in a case, but my pocket scratches it...

It'd be nice if someone made a clear version

http://www.jrhillandcompany.com/foripods/wrap.html

It uses clingy vinyl, no glue. I think that the current version is for 3G only.

Being an adult, I wouldn't like the tattoo coverings for the iPod either. I imagine that this may be a hit with teenagers, especially girls.

It's not like HP stole iPods from Apple... Apple is using HP as a means of selling more iPods to a broader range of costomers. Especially more PC costomers, which is really good IMO. I do agree though that it's weird seeing an Apple product on a PC website...

You can always leave your iPod white if you want, nobody is forced to get those tattoos. Being an adult like you and like most adults probly would, I'd keep mine white. I'm not one for the skinning fads... But you're right, this could prove to sell more iPods to teenagers which is good. More money for Apple. Who knows yet, I guess we'll have to see the numbers next year :)

If it is anything like nokias covers, this is going to be pretty popular. Well, especially with teenagers. Pretty smart move from HP.

So according to some of you: Have an option of putting a sticker of your choice on the iPod....bad thing. Getting an ugly black case to cover your beautiful iPod completely....good thing. I suggest thinking about it for a minute before replying. ;)

Its not even like they're forcing you to get it. If you see something you DO like, you'll get one. Its another option. You can say you don't want a sticker, but don't say that an option is dumb. This will obviously sell to some people.

Blank ones are coming soon. Presumably HP's software will be for Windows only, but templates for other programs will undoubtedly appear in short order.
