Odd charge time figures?

I was just recharging my macbook after almost completely killing the battery, and it's been charging on and off for the past 4 hours or so. It was just reading 1:12 remaining time to charge, then all of a sudden the magsafe went green and the computer read "Charged" in the top corner. What just happened?

Mine also has a weird problem. If I have a full battery and plug in the magsafe adapter, the light turns green for half a second and then turns orange. If I remove the power adapter and attach it again, it turns green. I guess it likes to overcharge the mac and needs to be told twice not to do it :confused:
