Hey guys,

I've got this AVI, and well I'm trying to convert it to .m4v but when I open it from Quicktime it says:

The document “TNA IMPACT 28.01.2010.avi” could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands.

Thats how I usually convert the files to iPhone (m4v) format.

I even tried using Roxio Popcorn to convert it, and it says the same exact thing like Quicktime.

But when I play it with VLC it works fine ...

What do you guys reckon its from ?

Missing any good codecs ??

Have you got Perian installed?
If not, do so and try again with QT Player.

Also MPEG Streamclip is a good transcoding application, but it is more complicated than Handbrake, which offers presets for the iPhone.
