Hi,

I will be moving to the carribeans in a few months, St-Vincent to be precise, and I am bringing my iMac (8.1).

I know the iMac is auto switching, but what I cannot find is where to buy the appropriate power cord.

Electrical and operating requirements
Line voltage: 100-240V AC
Frequency: 50Hz to 60Hz, single phase
Maximum continuous power: 200W (20-inch models); 280W (24-inch model)
Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
Storage temperature: -40° to 185° F (-40° to 85° C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
Maximum altitude: 10,000 feet

I went to the local apple store and they told me that they don't sell power cords, which I find suspicious. Actually they also told me that the iMac wasn't auto-switching.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

As a slightly off topic question, I am considering a MBP when/if the refresh takes place, would I have to replace the entire magsafe or simply the lead that plugs into the wall outlet?

Thanks!

Look here for more information on power plugs:
http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

Macs and their power adapters (iMac has one inside the casing, the MBP has the white one which goes directly into the power plug) are capable of switching between 100 and 240V, and 50 or 60Hz, so it should be no problem using the power there with the appropriate adapter like these (http://www.google.com/products?client=safari&rls=en&q=world+power+adapter&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=wqh3S7GPIpWf_Ab1-tW6Cg&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CCQQrQQwAg) and some multi sockets.
