I am looking to upgrade my RAM on a new iMac 27-inch. I purchased it with the least amount of RAM available (4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB) because apple wanted too much for their RAM.

Can anyone suggest a good place to purchase apple compatible RAM? I am hoping to get to 8 GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB or possibly 16GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x4GB if the price is not too outrageous.

Any advice on a good product would be helpful. Also looking to possibly upgrade my MacPro (but it is working just fine and don't really need to upgrade its 4 GB of RAM).

I like Crucial RAM. http://www.crucial.com/ Also check out OWC.

To upgrade to 8gb overall you're only looking at about $100-150 for the 2x2gb addition. If you're looking to go to 16gb though, you'll be looking at around $750-1000 due to the high price of the 4gb modules.
