View Full Version : [CODMW2 PS3] Can't hear any voice chatting?

This is on my Playstation 3.

I've checked my settings time and time again. All other sounds are working flawlessly but I can't hear anyone who is voice chatting. I see their chat symbol pop up like as if they're talking but I can't hear anything. This is happening in any server I connect to and I've even restarted the game.

This is driving me insane because I wanna use my bluetooth mic (which happens to work in Skate 2) but I can't because I can't hear anyone.

By the way. I tried un-pairing my bluetooth mic and changing my settings back to Input Device - Do Not Use and Output Device - System Default and restarted the game and still nothing.

Can anyone offer up any suggestions?

Well, consider that ps3s dont come with snazzy little headsets like xboxs do, but they will work with any USB microphone, I happen to know that most people I know that have PS3s (including myself) just use rockband microphones, which a pretty sensitive so often they will pick up ambient noise and cause that little symbol.

Hmm... You may be right, but I was in and out of servers last night and I kept seeing that symbol show up and it's kind of hard to believe that nobody was talking at all. I'll try it again tonight. Thanks.

I used to have this happen a lot. Here's what I had to do. Before you even launch the game, go to your Sound Settings, switch your input and output to Do Not Use, then switch the input back to your bluetooth headset and it should bring up the little sound test box and you should hear yourself. Back out of that setting and then launch the game.

Stupid, I know, but it did that to me in COD4 all the time and that was my only fix. Fortunately, I don't have that problem with MW2. Let us know if it works.

Figured it out. My friend was over and turned the voice volume all the way down in the game. All set now.
