All Things D (http://mediamemo.allthingsd.com/20100218/cbs-well-cut-itunes-prices-for-some-shows/) reports on comments made by CBS CEO Les Moonves during today's earnings conference call. Moonves reported said that the prices of some of its shows will be $0.99, possibly reflecting moves (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/02/10/apple-reportedly-set-to-test-lowering-prices-for-some-television-downloads-to-1/) by Apple."There are certain shows that will be sold on Apple for 99 cents," Moonves said today, adding, however, that details have not been worked out.
Despite these comments, All Things D author Peter Kafka reports that others who are familiar with Moonves' thinking claim that negotiations are ongoing, and nothing will change imminently.

I've been waiting for the day when iTunes TV show prices drop. This is a good sign that it's coming soon.

Fantastic! I may even buy a few episodes now. Make a $7.99 for all-you-can-eat CBS in a month and I'd jump on that too.

I think the plan for this is already in motion, this season of amazing race is relatively cheap, you can by the whole season for $11 for 12 shows.

Although for a few commercials you can still watch the show for free on CBS's website... :D

I've always been puzzled about why the half-hour shows are the same price as the hour shows, those should be 99 cents anyway.

Hope that CBS takes this step, I'm much more likely to buy old shows of How I met your mother if they do.

I think .99 would be a really great price point for TV shows, would make me buy a lot more

$0.99 for the SD or HD show? I hope it’s the latter considering you can view almost all of CBS' hit shows in HD on the Web for free (tv.com, Windows Media Center, etc).

Needs to be subscription based and needs to extend to AppleTV.

Yeah this might even get me to buy.

Especially with an iPad. Sometimes for whatever reason, DVR Malfunction, weather problems or whatever, I miss an episode of a show I want but I am not paying $2.00 for it. Just beyond my level of acceptance.

At a $1.00 I can certainly justify it, so it is very likely that my annual tv itunes budget would go from its historical high of zero to something above zero.

Would be good. I have a few TV Shows I want to buy. All episodes.

P. S Could you stop editing messages and deleting half the message. Thank you.

I still think that these shows could be cheaper. Make them cheaper still and more people will buy and get hooked on the service. Sell them at an inflated price and piracy will thrive! Although, I accept that some people would never get to illegal downloading. I cannot imagine my mother installing Transmission just to see the Cleveland Show. She would just completely ignore these services and use an appliance, called 'television'.

Looking forward to some deals. Hope my wife does not spend all my iTunes Gift cards on one show.

Maybe they will drop the prices on "Two and a Half Men" now that the show is halting production...
