ext. firewire drive only sees partial

My 120g external fhd is only seeing a little over half the capacity and I am running 10.3 on a dual 1.25. I know there is a way around it but I cannot remember how. Can someone help me out here I ma having a senior moment.

Have you tried partitioning the drive? That could work.
