Hopefully this article can slot in between the "boner is missing" one and the one about the dad who shot his daughter's boyfriend. :p

Badly fitted condoms do not just reduce the pleasure of sex for men and women - they raise the risks of infection and pregnancy, researchers say.

Men are twice as likely to take the condom off midway through sex due to a poor fit, a poll of 436 men in Sexually Transmitted Infections journal reveals.

Ill-fitting condoms more than doubled the chances of them splitting or slipping off, a Kentucky team found.

UK experts said men should know condoms came in different shapes and sizes.

Condom use is increasing in popularity, now rivalling the Pill as a form of contraception, according to a recent poll.

However, there are concerns that couples may turn away from them if they fail to fit comfortably and correctly, and risk unsafe sex instead.

The latest study fuels these concerns.

Out of 436 men questioned by the University of Kentucky researchers, 195 reported that their last sexual encounter involved an ill-fitting condom.

A total of 120 of these said that this had reduced their own sexual pleasure, and 57 said it had reduced it for their partner.

In addition, 34 said they had removed the condom early, while 18 said the condom had broken during sex.

All of these problems were far less frequent among men who reported a well-fitted condom.

I do wonder... who is stopping in the middle of sex, taking the condom off, and then going back to having sex?

One of the best intros to a post ever!

...a poll of 436 men in Sexually Transmitted Infections journal

I'm kinda worried there is a 'Sexually Transmitted Infections' journal. I hope it isn't a journal where you keep track of things, like a diary. Now that would be even more worrisome

...reduce the pleasure of sex for men and women

What? Sex is pleasurable for women too?

...while 18 said the condom had broken during sex.

Friction?

All of these problems were far less frequent among men who reported a well-fitted condom.

And internet geeks...

Ill-fitting condoms more than doubled the chances of them splitting or slipping off, a Kentucky team found.

Who said size doesn't matter...

A total of 120 of these said that this had reduced their own sexual pleasure, and 57 said it had reduced it for their partner.

57 respondents were also identified as wimps...

I do wonder... who is stopping in the middle of sex, taking the condom off, and then going back to having sex?

Yeah, me too :confused::confused::confused:

On a more serious note, PLEASE PLAY SAFE

I refuse to wear that!

This is why I practice monogamy. No worries.

Easy, just don't sleep around. I have one chick. That's what "monogamy" means.

Oh, I've heard of it more than a few times. Either it felt ill-fitting so they tossed it and used pull-n-pray, or they were drunk and pulled it off to have more sensitivity due to the numbing of alcohol.

Forget size. I want a condom that's ribbed on the inside so that I get the pleasure.

You know that they have those, right (with ribs on the inside and outside)? And not just like the Chuck Norris joke. :p They're quite nice.

Sounds like he doesn't care if they have them on the outside... ;)

In this case, a journal is a periodical that is dedicated to the sole subject of STIs, not a log of everybody's SDIs

I've said this elsewhere- thank god they're finally taking this seriously. This has been ignored and ridiculed for far too long, with serious consequences.

Bottom line- no guy's weenie is less than the circumference of a quarter. Condoms need to be wider.

Been there, done that...

Bottom line- no guy's weenie is less than the circumference of a quarter. Condoms need to be wider.

...this is why.:D

Turns out that all things considered it wasn't necessary at the time. Otherwise other preventative action would have been taken.

In my extensive travels around the world inspecting the penis sizes of all nations, creeds, and colours, I have come to the somewhat startling conclusion that penis size is highly variable, and that there are indeed some men with penises smaller than a quarter, and others with penises larger than a can of Coke.

Shops sell clothes and shoes with clearly identified, reasonably consistent size rankings, why not condoms also? At the moment it's a wild guessing game as to whether a 'natural' is larger or smaller than an 'extra strong'.

A condom that doesn't fit is more dangerous than a shoe that doesn't fit.
