I'm thinking of taking a functional DVD drive from a white non-unibody C2D Macbook, and put it in a uMB in place of its broken DVD drive.

I understand the uMB has a SATA connection in the optical bay, but I'm not sure if the DVD drive from the white Macbook uses SATA or PATA.

If it's the White MacBook prior to the 9400M update (x3100 or GMA950 graphics chipset), it's PATA. Ifixit.com makes it sound like the non-Unibody 9400M whitebooks have the SATA connection.

It is the early09 with 9400M, looks like Ifixit.com knows their stuff so must be SATA then. Thanks.
