Is the song Let's get it Started by the Black Eye Peas a sort of edited version of their song Let's get Retarded (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=14146457&selectedItemId=14146430) or are they two different songs?

Yeah, 'Let's Get It Started' is an edited version of 'Let's Get Retarded.' They rereleased their 'Elephunk' album to include it once the song hit radios and MTV, and became popular.

I used to work at FYE (an evil music chain) and we had to send the original version back to our distribution center when they sent us copies of the new one.
