Spam Sieve

I've been using spam sieve for a couple years, after a while it just becomes useless and totally obvious spam mails keep getting through.

Any other recommendations to use with mail.app or tips to improve spamsieve?
 
I haven't had any need for a 3rd party spam filter

I have Gmail accounts and MobileMe accounts and their spam filters work fine for me

That's not the usual experience with it.

I've used it for years. My business account used to get 1000 spam a week (about 150 per day), after using spam sieve it goes down to maybe 1 getting through a week.

Sounds like you did not train it.
