Command Shift 4 help

CS4 and I "frame" what I want to see. Saved to desktop ok. But the image has the top bar with sizing etc. All I want to save is the actual area I outlined. How can I achieve this, please? Thanks. Do I need a sep. app? If so please suggest.

I am not sure I understand the question
Command + Shift + 4 does just save the area you select to the desktop

Can you post a pic of what you are getting?
Or more clearly define it?
