Hard drive path?

I was messing around with my external, which has all my movies and tv shows stored on it and seemed to have made a major mistake. I renamed my external something different than what Itunes normally understands. I would like to keep the current name I have for my external but would like to change the path in which itunes follows for the movies and stuff. I dont think deleting all the stuff from itunes and adding them back in again cause I have spent time adding all artwork and descriptions for them. I tried searching using mroogle but came up empty handed. Thanks in advance Lloyd

Typically, if you go into iTunes preferences / advanced, you can change the location of your library folder.

There are dozens if not hundreds of threads on this. Move iTunes library:

I have looked there but i am scared of changing anything with out knowing what is going to happen. All my music is stored on my mbp and have all my movies and tv shows on the external, If I change the path wouldnt that change that path which itunes follows for playing my music? I was thinking of deleting everything and starting over but if I do that would all the dvd covers and descriptions disappear? I dont wanna have to start over again. Thanks Lloyd
