The computer freezes, or the web browser freezes? ie can you do other things?

More detail? What browser? What pages? If you Force Quit the browser and re-open it does the same problem occur? What version of Mac OS X?

The internet freezes. I am unable to do anything else when this happens and must "force quit" the internet each time. A little box comes up asking whether to report or not. I always choose not to.

What kind of Mac, what operating system (About This Mac)?

Really hard to diagnose remotely, hopefully someone reading this can help.

NExt time it does it, try this

All the traffic lights should be green

This is strange. I can not get on certain websites such as youtube. It has been going on for the last few days. I never had a problem with these sites before.

The other day a screen kept popping up when I logged in saying I needed to update "SilverLight". I had no idea what that was, but found it annoying. I thought it might be a reason for the computer freezing so I updated it. I checked to make sure I had it on my computer beforehand and it was there. Should I delete it?

I have a macbook.
version 10.5.8
2.2GHz intel core 2 duo

No, don't delete it.

The next thing to try is to repair permissions. Silverlight may have been installed incorrectly by the installer. Follow the instructions here (http://guides.macrumors.com/Repairing_Permissions).

If that doesn't work, do this. Go to a site that causes the freeze. Force quit. Choose to send a report to Apple, but copy the report first and paste it into a post here.

did not work. could it be an airport problem? it was recently reinstalled.

guess it is the browser. i am not sure what i am using. i tried to install glims long tome ago, but use safari. however glims brings up the pages when it freezes, but it is still safari. Hope that makes sense.

okay...can't find glims on the computer?

There may be more than one problem.

Restart your computer.

Do you use Apple's Mail program to send/receive email? If so, can you send/receive email?

I do use Apple mail, but turned the computer off and on and it seems to be working now. Thanks :)
