Well I have a newe iMac not the most recent released. The 3.06 27", I just noticed the keyboard doesn't light up like how it is on my UMBP. I looked in the setting I don't see any option for it. Is it because it's a wireless keyboard or what or am I just totally missing something here.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately not. Would have loved it if they did.

No, only the MBP's and the MBA have a backlit keyboard.

Wow this weird I would expect it to be lit. That's a downer. Appreciate it though guys.

Ya that's why I said because it's wireless? Assuming batteries wouldn't be able to last long since they keyboard would be lit.

The vast majority of desktop keyboards aren't lit.

That is true. If you're after a back lit keyboard, Logitech offers the G15 keyboard which is a gamers keyboard, but it works well. The touch and feel of it tho isn't as nice as the Mac's aluminum keyboards tho.
