How to find out whether my macbook is a new or refurbished?

Hello,
I just got my macbook today(purchased on ebay), and I found out there was a small scratch on the bottom part. It's not really noticeable but I would like to know if there is a way to find out whether my macbook is a new or refurbished.

Go here and enter your serial number found in System Profiler > Hardware Overview.

That might help, but I'm not 100% sure.
