Sandy Bridge?

Hey guys, im looking into buying a late 2010 Mac Pro (Saving is difficult). I was checking out a relevant thread "whose anticipating buying a 2010 Mac Pro" and many people mentioned waiting for "Sandy Bridge". Can some one fill me in on what this means please?
