I have a macbook that is not wireless n enabled. i know i could take apart the macbook and install a new airport card that is and that would work (and probably will one day soon) for the time being would a usb adapter work the same?

Also airport seems to drop its connection pretty frequently and doesn't like to work more than a few feet away from the docking station. I'm hoping it's because the airport card is old. Would an adapter fix this as well?

Sorry if this question seems a little moronic. I'm not very computer literate.

Thanks for the words of wisdom

A usb adapter will work if it's mac-compatible. Once you have that in place, it will answer your other questions.

Thanks it was super simple. How hard is it to swap out the internal airport card?
