It is pretty obvious that Apple will most likely update their iMac line this summer. Here are some ideas that I would like to see.

Hopefully they will retain four models for selection.

Model 1:
21.5" Core i3 Dual Core with Hyperthreading running at least 2.8GHz
4GB Ram
1TB HDD
Dedicated GPU w/256MB Ram
$1099 US

Model 2:
21.5" Core i5 Quad Core @ 3GHz
4GB Ram
1.5TB HDD
512MB Dedicated video
$1399 US

Model 3:
27" Core i5 Quad Core @ 3GHz
4GB Ram
1.5TB HDD
512MB Dedicated Video
$1599

Model 4:
27" Core i7 Quad core with Hyperthreading @ 3Ghz
8GB Ram
2TB HDD
1GB Dedicated Video
$1799

What do you guys think?

I personally believe that this will be pretty close to reality.

Why is it "pretty obvious" that they will update the iMac line this summer?

We are still waiting on the soon-to-be-released iPad, a new iPhone (hardware), and a new iPhone OS (software). The MacBook Pro (and the MacBook Air) are both overdue for updates. It has now been over a year since the Mac Pro was last updated.

In fact, the iMac is the most recently updated of the entire Mac line.

First they need to fix the yellow screens.

When is Summer? I assume June, July and August, opposite to Winter here.

I dont think that would happen, I think you can expect to see i5 dual core on 21.5 inches, and for 27 inch base model is the i5 quad core 2.66ghz or a replacment for that if released. Higher end 27 will be i7 2.8ghz the option upgrade right now. And if possible a even higher cpu better then i7 for customization but I dont think that is possible at this point.

Well this is the iMac section.

Besides, they are usually updated in August.

Yeah, I'd assume around there, or maybe September, but probably around the middle of the year. Hopefully I have money to buy one by then.
