Bluetooth or Wireless mouse

I just purchased a mint Apple iBook G4/1.42 14-Inch (Mid-2005 - Op) Specs (M9848LL/A) for my daughter and I want to purchase a mouse.

This iBook supports bluetooth and I was wondering if that means that I could use a bluetooth mouse. Also, will right-click functionality work with this iBook?

And finally, if using a bluetooth mouse is possible, does anyone have any suggestions for a great quality and portable mouse?

Certainly, all recent macs with bluetooth can have a bluetooth mouse, so I can't imagine that a slightly older one would have a problem either.

The iBook supports right click ability with a two (or more) button mouse.

Be sure to check the System Profiler > Hardware > Bluetooth section if there really is a Bluetooth adapter inside.

For trackpad right clicking and scrolling, iScroll (http://iscroll2.sourceforge.net/) was a charm.

Either use the Magic or Mighty Mouse.

Or get one of the Logitech models, but I don't know which exactly.

Yes there is a factory installed bluetooth adapter which functions perfectly.

The magic mouse looks great BUT it requires OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 and the OS of this iBook is OS X v10.4.11.

Unsure if v10.5.8 will run on a PowerPC and I'm very unsure that I want to upgrade if it does.

Perhaps I need to look at a non-Apple mouse...

The iBook is capable of running Mac OS X 10.5.8, if you up the RAM to 1.25GB RAM.

But I still think Tiger is the better choice with that iBook.

Yup, I think Leopard would struggle on a G4.

I'll keep running the current OS and find an appropriate mouse, perhaps the Logitech V450 Nano which isn't bluetooth but is relatively small, gets good battery life, reasonable price and has a bunch of great reviews.

Get the old Mighty Mouse, it's still a pretty good mouse.
