Please Help! - Printing from Indesign CS in OS X.3.5

Can you print directly to an HP Laserjet 1150 or an Canon i860?

I got those because they were on both their sites and apple as MAC OS X compatible but I always get error of unknown origin.

I would make the usual PDF for work around but the HP printer options don't allow you to choose envelope or custom size that I can find. Can you do this?
