Will my ripped h.264 files on mac run on windows?

I ripped some DVDs to h.264 format on my Mac. If I copy that file to thumb drive and move to a windows laptop, will it play?

(If you have QuickTime for Windows installed on the laptop): almost certainly! - if your laptop is fairly nippy.

Alternatively, VLC on the laptop should work too.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 11.6" notebook (doesn't have DVD drive) and was hoping they would work!)
