View Full Version : How do i share a printer.. PC and Mac?

Currenty i have a Desktop PC with XP and my ibook G4, OSX, printer is connected to the PC, but i want to share it with my ibook. how do i do this? Please help me. :confused:

I followed this:

with the exception that I did not have to use Services for Unix and create an LPR printer. I simply created the first Ghostscript printer, then shared it and my Mac's print fine.

I didnt think it was that hard. I have an XP machine and Panther and panther found the printer over the network after I installed the printer driver.

Well I have a Brother Laser Printer and it has both Parallel and USB on the back of it so I just use the Parallel for my PC and the USB for my iMac. It works great! Maybe that will work if you have both ports on the back of your printer and its Mac compatible(gimp print drivers may work!).
