I've just spent few hours fighting with this and I thought I can give you my results ;d Just to save you some time. It works!

Problem: no sound, iPod does not recognize headphones. Diagnose: too much dirt. Cure: Windex. Status: Didn’t work. Second try: Manual dirt removal.

Do you still have full wifi strength after taking the case apart? I have wondered if poorly fitted halves of the case lead to wifi issue.

Of course maybe yours is as tight as a clam.

Oh and BTW - Pretty nice way to fix the headphone Jack !

Few months ago I had to repair my power switch (paper&tape once again) and it was then that I opened my case for the first time. During this time I didn't notice any weakening of the signal, though at the beginning I was afraid of losing it entirely 😉 luckily everything was fine. if you know any tools from appstore to mesure the wifi signal strength I can send you the results.

I just discovered this "touch sensitivity" was caused by me not being careful enough when trying to take out the headphone jack... Watch out! 🙂
