Hey guys,

I just noticed after picking my laptop up that something jingles on the left side of my macbook. I never dropped it or banged it, I recently sent into the apple store to get the sound fixed.

Could it be the keys possibly? Really odd... any suggestions? It is still under warranty so I can always get it fixed if something is wrong.

It's the keychain, obviously.

I suggest bringing it back to the store.

If it didn't jingle before the repair, then perhaps they did something to it.

I didn't notice it beforehand. It is really weird.. I tilt the mac left and right and something makes a sound on the left side of the keyboard.

so annoying

yeah its most likely the hard drive parking its head so it doesnt damage your hard disk.

some drives are more noticeable than others. do you have the 250gb hitachi? iv read that many have reported that they can hear the hard drive parking its head when you move it.

I had that drive in my MBP but did never hear any sounds like that.

Take it to a apple store to have them listen to it.

Hi there, Mr. Genius.. Please can you listen to my Mac? It makes noises...

Does it make the sound when the machine is powered off? I'm not that familiar with the technology, but I would imagine that once the power is off, the head should already be parked.

The short answer is this:

If your concerned, take it in to the store. You've paid a lot for the machine, and you should be satisfied.

Good luck!
