mac mini server is too expensive

i was wondering if it's possible to have a RAID system if i replace both stock HD and SD

with SSD and SSD + optibay ?

yes it's been done before, do yourself a favor and skip the optibay. It serves it's purpose in laptops because you want to immobilize the hard drive as much as possible and there's not a lot of room to work with. In the Mini once the optical drive is removed there is a huge flat surface to put the hard drive and secure it any way you wish, velcro, strap, zip tie, whatever and you saved $100. You just need this cable/adapter combo.
