I'm trying to work out my budget for this year in terms of capital expenditure, tax allowances, etc.

What I'm wondering is, do you think we will see the legendary 3GB G5 (possibly even dual-core!) before next April (2005)?

I know this is a guessing game but where better to ask for ideas than MacRumors!

I guess there will be a update of the Power Mac line on or before April 2005.
We will possible see DDR2 and PCI Express then, that's why I was thinking about not buying a new Power Mac now... but I couldn't resist ;)

Ok I think tht we will see a PowerMac Updte before April, i am thinking more along the lines of Jan/Feb. I relly think that this Rev. B has been kind of a Time Buyer for apple cos, they were meant to be at 3Ghz
But yeah that is what I think.

I too think we will see another PowerMac G5 update before April 2005. I would hope that Apple doesn't want the whole 1 year between updates thing to become the norm.

I would also think that MWSF might just be the right timing. If we get 3 GHz then Steve will want to announce it during the Keynote address. Then they would be back to the 6 months update.

One thing we found out earlier this year was that Apple's powermac line release dates cannot be predicted in any way... :)

One thing to consider is, that they are currently shipping the 2.5 and 1.8 rev in very limited qtys, if they release new rev the problem is getting worse. Therefore I see April 2005 as realistic.
