Hi

For my Product Design AS course i am required to use the 3D modelling software 'PTC Pro Desktop'. I will use it to model and create various 3D images. These images will then be output to various routers and cutters that create them in different materials.

The problem is that its not Mac compatible

Do you know of any good cheap alternatives for the mac?

if you've got time could you also send an email to 'prodesktop@ptc.com' with the subject 'Pro/DESKTOP MAC port' asking them to make a mac version.

Thanks

pro desktop is the most terrible 3d apps arround, but british schools seem to love it because it's so cheap. I refused to use it when i did a GCSE in electronic products last year and i did all my design work on a student version of cinema 4D 8 on my powerbook.

You can get good alternatives but they are still quite expensive even with student discounts.

PTC should port the next release of pro/Engineer wildfire to Macos X. Also, Ansys should port its software to run on a Dual 2.5Ghz G5 Powermac....
