hello all,

I'm a newbie to this forum, and need some help.

I need to replace the screen on my imac (late 2006) intel core2 duo. the panel model # is LM201W01 (SL) (A3). Do the pairs of characters in () have to match too?

Also, does anyone know of a good source of panels that they've been happy with as an alternative to ebay?

thanks so much for any help. i've had no luck trying to google for this information.

eBay (http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=LM201W01&_sacat=See-All-Categories) is best place to buy such an abnormal stuff like iMac screens. Best prices compared to other sellers which rarely even stock any items

I used to own the same machine. I think you'll have a lot better luck searching Google for Apple's part number for the panel.

661-3895

I found a bunch of places (http://www.google.com/search?q=661-3895+replacement+panel&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t) selling them at various prices.

If this were to happen down the road, is it possible to bring it into an Apple Retail Store and have them fix it, or do they tell you that you're pretty much out of luck and to buy a new model?

They can fix it but they charge like 700$ for it, so not worth it.
