Hi-
I have a macbook unibody that I bought in January of 2009. I am pretty sure the macbook is a late 2008 model, because I don't have the built in battery. According to Apple's site, my computer takes DDR2 PC2-5300.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651

But, the current memory (stock) that is in it is DDR3 running at 1067. What kind of memory is compatible with my macbook? I want to buy 4gb (2x2gb) of the best kind, guessing preferably any listed here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010170381%201309239101%201309121118&name=4GB%20%282%20x%202GB%29

So whats the deal? Thanks!

You need to use DDR3 1066MHz SO-DIMM 204 Pin PC3-8500 memory. I enjoy the peace of mind in dealing with OWC (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/8566DDR3S4GP/). Their products are tested and guaranteed. They also have instructional videos on their site to help make the project a success.
