Intuos3 vs Wacom Bamboo

I am looking at macmall at some refurb pen tablets. I have been looking at Intuos3 6x8 and Wacom Bamboo Fun Small Pen Tablet. The Intuos3 is 170 while the bamboo is only 40. I am by no means a professional, I want to use it for photo editing and the occasional handwritten corrections on papers, and signings. Just was wondering if and when the extra money for an intruos is worth it. Thanks

And no I have no experience with tablets so sorry i am so lost...
