iPod Nano OS Needed

Hello, My black 2nd gen ipod nano 8gb has recently gotten the white screen of death as its called i have tried everything and even tried restoring. It seems my only option know is to reinstall the ipod nano os. I was wondering if anyone had a link to a website where i could get a copy of the ipod nano os for 2nd gen? If anyone could post a link i would seriously appreciate it. Thanks

I need an older version of the ipod nano os, cause it seems to me that its a bug in apple software since my screen is still showing a white screen so i dont think its a hardware problem.

You can't use an older OS on an iPod. The oldest possible you can use is the OS it shipped with.

When you restore it in iTunes, you are reinstalling the OS. If that does not work, it is a hardware problem.

also there have been numerous software updates since my 2g came out 3 years ago. Why isnt it possible to completly delete all files off my ipod nano and then put a fresh copy of a older ipod nano is on my nano?

If my screen were not working at all then i would think it was a hardware problem but if its showing a white screen it makes me think is not hardware but software.

The flaw in your logic is that if there was a buggy OS version out there we would have heard about it from annoyed nano owners by now.

If it was a flaw in the installation process restoring it again would have solved it.

Your screen may be working, but there could be a problem with another component such as the logic board.

Because it does not work that way. Restoring basically removes and the files and reinstalls a fresh OS.

Like the previous poster said, your screen could still work, even if it is a hardware problem. A white screen most likely means a bad logic board. It's as simple as that.
