Since no one replied, I ran to my local apple distributor and it was the first thing I tried. Right now I'm replying from a demo iPad TETHERED to MyWi!

Yes, I have tried it, it works perfectly, albeit a little slow when trying to download Star Trek :)

You're probably among the first posters to post to MacRumors on an iPad.
I'm still waffling on getting one until all the initial "bugs" are worked out. :)
Sounds Good

Anyone know if MyWi can be used on the original iPhone? (pre-3G)

Works well. I'm using it to send this post from my iPad.
Unfortunately PDAnet won't work as the ipad is not capable for use with an adhoc network. Mywi is definitely the way to go.
I have a jail broken 3GS running 3.1.3.

I don't know, but wouldn't you imagine it being really, really, really slow?

just tried downloading mywi and it locked up while reloading the springboard. Have to tether to get it going again.

It works wonderfully. I flipped the toggle and turned on the wifi tethering, went iPad settings and connected right away. It took a few seconds to actually acquire a 3G connection and when it did, I came right here :D
The speed is just like 3G on the iPhone, nothing compared to Wifi but still works well when you have no other data access.
This is the reason I decided not getting the 3G version and I'm glad I saved myself a month of butterflies in the stomach waiting and an extra $130 :p

Which app did you use to jailbreak 3.1.3? Are you tethered? Do you have a newer 3GS or an 'older' bootrom version? Thanks!

you can jailbreak 3.1.3 with PwnageTool
or upgrade your existing 3.1.2 jailbreak to 3.1.3 jailbreak using sn0wbreeze
only on the early bootrom 3GS and all previous models

No worse than my really, really, really slow iPhone! ;)
I'm trying to decide between getting a WiFi iPad and tethering it to my (really, really slow) 2G iphone or getting a 3G iPad and paying for 3G access. I don't want to upgrade my current iphone to 3G because at this point I'd rather wait until the new iPhone comes out.

Thanks...at the moment I don't see any need to go to 3.1.3. Just got MyWi up and running (after it crashed 4 times) on my old 3G.
