Is there anyway to fix this, I am experiencing the same problem on my seagate 7200 hard drive. It originally shipped with a 200gb 5400 rpm. Is there a way to manually override it??

7200 rpm update wont work on upgraded drive

There is a HDD firmware update for the 7200rpm drives in the unibody MBPs that helps get rid of the crazy buzzing and stuff you get.
To answer the OP's question: no, you can't override it. Since you installed a custom drive, the firmware check fails and won't install.
