Not illegal stuff! Perhaps stuff from smaller artists .etc.
Sorry if this thread has been posted a million times, i'm a mac newbie!
Thanks! :)

Depends on the kind of music that you like.
PitchforkMedia (http://pitchforkmedia.com/mp3/) has new stuff every few days.
Barsuk (http://www.barsuk.com/web.cgi?travis&travismp3s) records has a few from every artist.
Absolutely Kosher (http://www.absolutelykosher.com/) records has stuff for every artist.
Elsinor (http://www.elsinor.com/) records has stuff.
Touch and Go (http://www.tgrec.com/) records also has stuff.
...Just to name a few.
Just go to the indie label of your choice, and they usually have a handful of MP3s for each artist. Click on the links area, and usually they link to other indie labels who have more MP3s. It's an endless cycle.
Sometimes, if you send them an email and ask nicely, they give you things. Like Absolutely Kosher, if you nicely send an email with your address, they'll mail you a sampler CD. For free. How cool is that?

for amazing, and I mean AMAZING live content, check out:
http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?
many many bands, all free live shows... many are recorded off the soundboard so it sounds like a live album, all the music is either .shn or .flac... so files are big... check version tracker for xACT or SHN tool to decompress into .wav or .aif then throw it into iTunes are shrink it if you need to save space. If you shrink it, DO NOT share it, but if it's in SHN, FLAC, WAV or AIFF it's ok to share.
