From the pictures it does not look like it will attach to a arm. Anyone know for sure?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)
I believe Apple's tech specs page states that it does:
27-inch model can be attached to a wall mount, articulating arm, or other VESA-compliant mounting solution using the optional VESA Mount Adapter Kit
Ooops. You asked about the 21". My bad.

There's a company called imacmount.com (http://www.imacmount.com/index.html) that makes a workaround solution for attaching the new 21.5" iMac to a standard VESA mount system.

The last thing I need is a 27" monitor sitting on my office workspace that is only like 20" deep! The money is not the problem, I just can't imagine at I have a 21 Eizo which is more than big enough when sitting that close.;)
The "Yellow Screen" threads, here, on the 27" units are also a little to numerous!

To each his own.
Though just to note, I'm sitting exactly 20" from my non-yellow 27" iMac and love the all encompassing view. Every time I see my friend's 21.5" iMac it looks plain tiny. With my Innovative 7500 arm (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=807142) folding to just 3" of space at the back of my desk, I couldn't be happier.

Well good for you!
But like I said I want no large "HONKING" 27" screen 24" from my face.
"Some" just like the bigger screen to compensate for "other" deficiencies!

No need to be rude - - as I said: to each his own. I hope whichever computer you choose turns out to be as enjoyable to you as my new iMac has been to me.

try editing photos on the 21 vs the 27. try opening up 3 or 4 windows at once on the 21 and see if you can see anything! :)

Excuse me but I must not be the "POWER USER":p that YOU are! I do edit my M9 images in CS on a 21" just fine, been doing it for years! I also can and do use two spread sheets side by side it works quite well! Never have need to have 4 windows open at the same time as I always remember to close them when done! <vbg>
I think "some" need to get their eyes fixed if they need a 27" monitor just 24" from your face!
It look likes more are needing to "compensate" than I thought! I never though a second about screen size "envy", I just get what will get the job done for me.:apple:
To each their own?

i have a 23" about 14" from my face at work. 27" 2 feet away is about optimum distance. with the pixel count of the imac it looks killer. how have you been using your 21" imac for years? :)

The 21 iMac is replacing a Windows Unit that was driving a 21" Eizo monitor that is still working well but the Windows desktop is a goner. I will be replacing all my equipment with MAC except my office network.
Sorry this conversation has got out of hand but I felt like the 27" people were pushing and a 21" has done great! I buy what I want not what others have because they think it would have been better.

Some people just like to match. Big screen for a big package, maybe.
Most people who use the compensate argument usually have issues in that department (I've no issues in that department, BTW)....I'm just sayin'...

So I'm not the only one to be surprised by this behavior then?
After finishing with his ranting in this thread, he moved on to try his hand at a little trolling in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=9594868#post9594868):
:eek:After reading just some of this thread, I would not even consider the 27" for a while. While some are saying all is good, I will wait and see if they get just some of the problems fixed.
...despite the fact that he just posted (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=891420) that he finished setting up his brand new 21.5" iMac last night.
This is also after he specifically said he didn't want a 27" screen in this thread:
I said I want no large "HONKING" 27" screen 24" from my face.
"Some" just like the bigger screen to compensate for "other" deficiencies!
...before going on to put down fellow MacRumors members who were respectfully trying to help him with his questions:
I think "some" need to get their eyes fixed if they need a 27" monitor just 24" from your face!
It look likes more are needing to "compensate" than I thought! I never though a second about screen size "envy", I just get what will get the job done for me.:apple:
He seem to be trolling against the 27" iMac, to justify his own purchase of a 21.5", despite the fact that he stated his own philosophy to be:
I buy what I want not what others have because they think it would have been better.
So, all in all, I have to agree with you Darth.Titan:
Wow. Just... wow...
