View Full Version : Good Basic Audio Editor?

For a few years I've used a program called Spin Doctor.

I recently updated my OS to 10.5 and the old doctor doesn't want to spin.

What I want is to import LPs and split them to tracks, edit bits out of podcasts, take things I capture from the Internet (I Use Audio HiJack) and split them to tracks, ... and usually send the results to iTunes.

Any advice on what would be good, easy, ... and will work on my old G4 PowerBook as well as on the Intel Mac I plan to get in the next few months.

Thanks

GarageBand is not part of OSX, it is part of iLife, which is included when you buy a new machine.

With Ardour you do need the Jack driver.

Audacity and Lame. Very very good. Free, too.
