help,pls~!! do my firewire and USB die??

Hi, guys~

I don't know why my powerbook can't detect my ipod no matter using firewire or USB to connect them( actually, my PC desktop can't detect it ,too!!) I have test the USB ports with my optical mouse, it works; there should be no the problem with my USB ports. Any problems with the firewire and USB wire?? I can still use it in this afternoon.....damn.....

Sounds like the problem is with the iPod. Possibly either a problem with the cable connector at the bottom or just simply the software on the iPod not working correctly. I'd call up Applecare and see if they have any more insights. The fact that it doesn't work on either your Mac or PC eliminates the ports being bad on just one computer.
