Stuck on optimizing photos

I just downloaded the iPhone OS 4 dev beta and installed it on my iPhone. After installing, restoring update, and resyncing I found that iTunes is stuck on a photo to optimize. It stays at one photo forever and my MacBook gets very hot. Any suggestions? Everything else syncs perfectly and I have my phone set up with all the proper permissions from my developer account.

I'm stuck on a similar issue. It's optimizing photos VERY SLOWLY, and slowly driving me insane. I imagine this will take another half hour to complete.
