Setting screensaver password?

I remember back to the stone ages when I used Windows (a few months ago) I could set a password that would pop up when the screensaver was disturbed. I've looked all over System Preferences and cant find this in OSX. Is it hiding somewhere? If not, why isn't there one?

Go to "System Preferences -> Security" and check the box beside the text "require password to wake this computer from sleep or screensaver".

As an aside, I don't understand why both Windows and OS X (not to mention Xscreensaver on Linux) don't have this option ON by default.

If they had it on by default, are you willing to answer all the complains from people getting locked out by some screen saver PW? Not everyone has stuff to hide.

Other admin accounts on your computer may be used to get your computer out of screen saver and into your account.

IMO this is bad, but what do I know :X
