Facebook chat: did we ever find out why it went "poof?"

No idea. But it worked for 1 min for me a couple of days ago. And then when I restarted my ipad. It didn't work anymore.
 
Yea i keep checking these forums to see if anybody has found a fix but man.. its not looking too hopefull. It did exactly that too, worked the first couple of days and then.. poof:/
 
Use Atomic Web Browser. That allows you to get facebook chat back. They took it off when you use Safari.
 
my sister bought an iPad the other day and called me asking why the facebook chat didn't work. hopefully there will be a fix for it so that I don't have to hear her whine about it for too long 😀
 
So Facebook thinks that Safari for iPad is an app? Because FB chat works in regular Safari just fine, and it also worked on iPad Safari for a couple of days. Hm.
