iMac/External display?

I'm just wondering, is it possible to use one of the new iMacs as an external display for a Powermac? I was thinking, why spend 1300 for a 20 inch display, when you can pay only 600 more and make it useable as a standalone. That way, you could for instance set up your system so that you can either have one computer with two or three (extra Vid card) displays, or have 1 or two iMacs plus a powermac with a display for use with multiple people (ie Warcraft parties).

Anyone know about this?
 
no it's not possible, not without crazy mods which i would do for you if you paid me and accepted that if i broke it i'm under no liability 😛.
 
in short words....yes you can. its easy with a script hack. search this forum i have never had to worry about that problem, and i am quite sure someone here is eager to assist you.
 
he's not talking about screen spanning he's talking about useing the entire imac as a moniter.
