Microsoft enters the music biz with MSN Music and a tuned-up version of Windows Media Player software. Should Apple be worried? Not yet. (http://www.macbytes.com/link.php?sid=20040921022149)

The thunder clouds are rolling in with that media mall where other music stores are available. Apple are making alliances with other companies who can spread the iTunes word, so it just needs for Apple to stick in there, and even if their marketshare is eroded, they are going to have a mega slice of a pie now being worked on by MS.

Competition is good if you are the number one innovator and the first to market too, because everytime a competitor tries to trounce you, your product is given a free plug. And if Apple stay on top of what has become their game, everyone else will always have to play catch-up, and be very very clever in overtaking them.
